Green Scene Film: Plastic Paradise

Think you know the grasp of our planet's plastic waste problem? Prepare to be surprised.

Together with Go Green Northbrook, the Northbrook Public Library will show the film Plastic Paradise on Monday, November 9 at 7pm in the Library's auditorium. Following the film, Tracey Becker and Erin Ryan from Go Green Northbrook will lead a discussion.

Plastic Paradise, an independent documentary, follows the travels of journalist Angela Sun as she investigates the gargantuan plastic waste problem in the Midway Atoll-also known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch-and shares insights on our world's plastic consumption from scientists, researchers, and volunteers. This powerful film has won numerous awards, including Best Educational Film (Blue Ocean Film Festival, 2014) and Best Cinematography (Global Inheritance Awards, 2015).

Green Scene move gatherings are designed to educate and help attendees develop an opinion on environmental issues while meeting like-minded people. There is no cost to attend the Green Scene film screening, and all are welcome.

The Northbrook Public Library is located at 1201 Cedar Lane, Northbrook, IL. For more information, visit www.gogreennorthbrook.org/you-can/green-scene/ or visit the Library's website at www.northbrook.info.
