Pop-up Halloween stores offer last minute costume choices

You have just a few days left to pull together the perfect costume for Halloween.

While we can't make it for you, or decide whether you're going to be spooky or sweet, we have put together a list of some spots up and down the Randall Road corridor where you can find the perfect outfit, as well as accessories.

There are several temporary Halloween stores that have popped up along the Randall Road corridor that will be open through the end of the month fulfilling all of your costume and decorating needs.

For example, if you're going to be a cave woman, they have bone earrings. Or, if you want to be Donald Trump, they have the mask. If you're looking for the full outfit of a dancing candy corn, this is the place for you.

You also can find many of your needs at the south end of Randall in Batavia at the Spirit Halloween store, 1980 W. Fabyan Parkway, next to the Office Depot. For information, call (630) 280-6744.

Inside, you'll find plenty of the popular Star Wars, Minions and Frozen costumes people are looking for, as well as gory costumes and a plethora of Disney-themed outfits.

At the opposite end of Randall Road, in Lake in the Hills, you will find another Spirit Halloween shop in the Centre at Lake in the Hills, in front of the movie theater, 261 N. Randall Road. Call (630) 280-7246.

Another temporary store open along the Randall Road corridor this year is Halloween City. You can find one in Elgin in the Otter Creek Shopping Center near Target, 214 S. Randall Road. For details, call (302) 268-7193.

Treasure hunting

Another option for finding your perfect costume is to hit up one of the Goodwill stores along the Randall Road corridor.

If you need a yellow shirt for your Charlie Brown costumes, or suspenders for your old man get-up, this is a great option.

The store does sell some full costumes, some of which are new; however, it also offers many accessories put together your own costume.

There is a Goodwill in Batavia at 450 N. Randall Road; (630) 761-8049.

You'll find another one a little to the north in South Elgin, 260 Randall Road; (847) 741-0236.

There is another location in Carpentersville, 7777 Miller Road; (847) 426-2448.

Each store has a different selection of costumes based on the donations it gets in, so you may want to try to visit a few if you're looking for something specific, or try calling ahead.
