Hoffman Estates chamber offers night of decadent dining

More than 20 restaurants and distilleries from around the Northwest suburbs were the stars of the show Thursday as the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce & Industry presented the Bon Appétit Food & Drink Festival at Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates.

Guests sampled cuisine and liquor samples from more 20 restaurants and distilleries from throughout the Northwest suburbs.

The delicacies ranged from entrees like gnocchi with vodka sauce, Mexican potatoes, penne Alfredo, a crab barbecue and goat cheese pasta to a variety of desserts like apple pancakes, flavored popcorn, homemade gelato and goat cheese cheesecake.

A friendly cupcake competition between Elgin Community College and Harper College culinary students was decided by guests, and a highlight of the evening was a presentation by French Chef Patrick Guat.
