Help 'HandsOn' transform Jane Addams' courtyard into an outdoor classroom

On Saturday, October 24, HandsOn Suburban Chicago (HOSC) will celebrate Make A Difference Day by helping Jane Addams School transform its courtyard into an outdoor learning space.

For the occasion, HOSC's Volunteer Corps is looking for 75 to 100 volunteers to come together to complete this effort, which will include light landscaping, garden plot and park bench construction, birdhouse building, mural painting, and repainting of the stencils on the playground blacktop. These family friendly volunteer projects will kick off at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon, and they will include projects appropriate for youth ages 8 and up.

Thousands of projects are planned each year involving corporations, communities, nonprofit organizations, entire states, and individuals. Many of the 250 HandsOn Network affiliates lead Make A Difference Day projects across the nation.
