Harper prepares for regional test with Rock Valley

It will not be an easy task for top-seeded Harper College (9-3-3) in the NJCAA Division III, Region IV men's soccer tournament.

The Hawks open postseason action Wednesday against fourth-seeded Rock Valley, which advanced to the quarterfinals after a 1-0 win over Triton College on Saturday.

In the most recent meeting between Harper and Rock Valley on Sept. 2, the Golden Eagles captured a 1-0 win.

But since that loss to Rock Valley, Harper has not lost. The only blemish was a goal-less draw to the JV squad from NCAA Division III Aurora University on Oct. 6.

In the other regional semifinal, third seed Joliet Junior College (9-7-1) travels to play second-seeded Madison College (7-5-2).

The winners advance to Saturday's noon regional final, to be hosted by Harper.

The Hawks swept both Joliet and Madison in four meeting this seasons, outscoring them by a combined 11-2.
