Elk Grove adding village signs over tollway
Drivers on Interstate 90 will know when they're entering Elk Grove Village - because signs on three Illinois Tollway bridges will tell them so.
The village board and tollway have inked an agreement allowing "Welcome to Elk Grove Village" signage to be placed on new Jane Addams Tollway bridges, being reconstructed as part of a tollway widening project. The village is paying $410,404 for the signs on bridges over Arlington Heights Road, Busse Road and Oakton Street.
The lettering also will include the village's elk logo.
