Girls volleyball: St. Charles North champ at Minooka

At Minooka: St. Charles North went 5-0 for the weekend to win the Minooka tournament and move to 31-3 for the season. The North Stars defeated Herscher, Glenbard South, Plainfield South, Minooka and Naperville North. Leading SCN for the tournament were Claire Anderson (52 kills, 8 aces, 25 digs), Jaclyn Taylor (90 assists, 28 digs, 8 aces, 9 kills), Sam Lappin (8 aces, 39 digs) and Lauren Caprini (14 aces, 24 digs).

At Elgin: Dundee-Crown won the Elgin tournament Saturday, going 5-0 with wins over Highland Park, Elgin, South Elgin, St. Edward and Leyden. Leading the Chargers (21-7) were Gina Pagano (30 kills, 22 digs, 5 aces), Emma Brant (22 kills, 10 digs, 12 aces, 5 blocks), Ashley Raby (20 kills, 4 blocks), Bre Novak (20 kills, 18 digs, 13 aces), Paige Gieske (17 kills, 9 blocks), Frankie Cavallaro (17 kills, 57 assists), Ali Buckley (50 assists, 16 digs) and Zoe Sitarz (42 digs).

South Elgin went 2-3 at the tournament, beating Highland Park and Elgin but falling to Dundee-Crown, St. Edward and Leyden. Rachel Priore (38 kills, 19 digs), Casie Swanson (35 assists, 11 digs), Julie Saldivar (21 digs), McKayla Geraghty (23 digs), Phoebe Duncan (11 digs) and Sarah Murray (51 digs) led the Storm.

St. Edward also went 2-3, beating Elgin and South Elgin while losing to Leyden, Highland Park and Dundee-Crown. Gabriella Tripicchio (102 assists, 30 digs, 7 aces), Dominique Washington (63 kills, 20 digs), Megan Barth (10 digs, 31 kills) and Erin Kremer (23 kills) led the Green Wave (15-14).

At Autumnfest: St. Charles East went 3-2 for the weekend at Glenbard East's Autumnfest. The Saints (22-12) defeated Mt. Pulaski, WW South and Crystal Lake South but lost to West Aurora and Loyola. Kyla Augustine (23 kills), Klaudia Sowizral (21 kills), Emily Schildmeyer (21 kills), Alexis Jett (58 digs), Kyra Slavik (58 assists) and Morgan Kull (48 assists) were the Saints' leaders for the tournament.

Crystal Lake South went 2-3 in the tournament, beating Lemont and Prairie Ridge while losing to Benet, St. Charles East and Barrington. Leading the Gators (18-16) were Kendall Kilberger (37 kills, 6 blocks), Emily Slimko (85 assists, 14 digs), Jordan Proszenyak (29 kills, 27 digs, 7 blocks), Madi Dahl (25 digs), Ariana Chelini (25 digs) and Kleja Cerniauskaite (16 blocks, 10 kills).

At Maine West: Batavia went 3-2 at the Maine West Pumpkin Tournament, beating Maine West, Wheeling and Oak-Park River-Forest while losing to Belleville West and Riverside-Brookfield. Leading the Bulldogs (13-20) were Jenna Garrett (87 assists, 27 digs), Maddy Astling (29 kills) and Katelynn Fegan (41 digs).
