Bartlett Park District offers Halloween Bash, auditions and more

Halloween Bash: Have a ghoulish good time when you rattle and roll around the Nature Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. Participate in Halloween activities and create eerie delights. Come in costume for some trick or treat fun. This event is open to all ages with children under age 14 with a paying adult; families welcome. It will be held at the Bartlett Nature Center, 2054 W. Stearns Road, James "Pate" Philip State Park. Cost is $5 per person. Advance registration is recommended.

Winter Season Job Fair: Villa Olivia will hold a winter job season job fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. Many job opportunities will be available December to March for ski/ snowboard instructors, lift operators, rental attendants and ski office cashiers. Applicants must be available nights, weekends and holidays. Fill out applications online at bartlettparks.org or onsite at www.applitrack.com/bartlettparks/onlineapp/ with your area of interest. Interviews will take place at the Job Fair. Villa Olivia is located at 1401 W. Lake St. in Bartlett.

'Peter Pan Jr.': Sign up now for youth auditions for "Peter Pan Jr." between 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 and Friday, Dec. 11; and 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, Dec. 12. Based on the Disney film and J.M. Barrie's enchanting play, "Disney's Peter Pan Jr." is a modern version of the timeless tale about a boy who wouldn't grow up. Wendy Darling loves to tell stories to her brothers, Michael and John. But when her father announces she must move out of the nursery, Peter Pan comes to visit the children and whisks them away to Never Land. Their adventure introduces them to the Lost Boys, Mermaids, Indians and even the infamous pirate, Captain Hook. To audition, you must be between the ages of 8-18 and must be age 8 by the audition date and not turn age 19 prior to March 14. Performances are March 10-13, 2016 on the BCC stage. If cast there is a program fee of $66 resident or $76 nonresident which includes a production T-shirt, two complimentary tickets to a performance, script, and theatrical experience. Cast list will be posted at www.bartlettparks.org under programs-theatre by 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14. A parent/cast meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, a sing-through will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16, and a read-through will be held Thursday, Dec. 17. There will then be a break until Jan. 5. Rehearsals are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays. Auditions, rehearsals, and performances are all held at the Bartlett Community Center, 700 S. Bartlett Road.
