New Fordham model home opens at Stonebrook in Elgin

Quiet country living minutes from the bustling Randall Road corridor offers buyers the best of both worlds at Stonebrook, a new community of 107 quarter- to one-acre wooded homesites on the far west side of Elgin.

Surrounded by lush forest preserves, Stonebrook will feature homes with three to four bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths and two- or three-car garages. Basements are included as standard with daylight and walkout basements available.

The model home impresses visitors with the openness of the floor plan, quality craftsmanship and luxury finishes that are included in each home, said Bob Meyn, director of sales and marketing for the Midwest division of Orleans Homes.

"The view from the back deck is exceptional and lets buyers experience the quaint, country-like atmosphere offered at Stonebrook," he said.

The Fordham model home is base priced at $449,900. It features 3,067 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, 3½ baths, walkout basement and a three-car garage. The model showcases several upgrades throughout the house.

The French Country exterior with a covered porch leads into the elegant foyer with views into the home, where a neutral gray and teal color palette reigns. The traditional interior with a modern flair features wide plank hardwood flooring throughout most of the main level.

Off the foyer, flex space can serve many functions, although many buyers furnish it as a living or dining room.

The showpiece kitchen features an oversized island, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a walk-in pantry. A subway tile backsplash adds a decorative touch. The extended breakfast nook offers plenty of room for guests to circulate throughout the living space, and it accesses the deck.

In the spacious great room, a corner stone fireplace takes center stage. Teal draperies dress the large windows that provide views of the outdoors. A sofa, love seat and chairs provide plenty of seating.

A bonus room is shown as a homework hub with a table and chairs and comfortable furnishings. This space could be an in-home office or additional bedroom.

A first-floor mudroom with built-in cubbies accesses the three-car garage.

Upstairs, the opulent owner's suite features a tray ceiling, teal draperies and a bed with a fabric headboard and shimmering teal and gray bed cover. Two chairs offer a quiet spot for reading before bedtime. The private bath has a tub, walk-in shower and dual sinks, a linen closet and walk-in closet.

Three secondary bedrooms upstairs include a princess suite decorated in pink and navy with a private bath, a boy's room with a robot theme and a guest room done in cream and teal with mirrored nightstands.

A full hall bathroom and convenient second-floor laundry room completes this level.

Other than the Fordham, several other two-story designs are also offered at the community: the Prescott with 2,908 square feet, starting at $299,990; Essex with 3,275 square feet, starting at $321,990; Edinburgh with 2,905 square feet, starting at $329,990; Stirling with 3,350 square feet, starting at $329,990; and Stockton with 3,797 square feet, starting at $349,990.

The model is located at 4345 Rudyard Kipling Road. To visit Stonebrook, take Randall Road to Bowes Road, proceed west to Corron Road, then south to Stonebrook Road and east to the community.
