Harper teams looking to finish strong before postseason

As the fall sports regular season draws to a close, Harper College's teams still have plenty to look forward to.

• The men's soccer team has already captured the North Central Community College Conference crown heading into Wednesday's matchup against Milwaukee Area Technical College in an N4C finale.

The Hawks (7-1-1 in the N4C) will be the host school for the NJCAA Division III, Region IV semifinals and finals.

• In women's soccer, the Hawks trail Rock Valley in the win column for the second-place spot in the N4C race. College of DuPage has already clinched the league title. Harper has two N4C games left.

• The Harper women's volleyball team is also looking up at the Golden Eagles in the standings. The Hawks are currently third in the N4C.

But a win over visiting Rock Valley on Thursday would give the teams identical conference records.

In the first league meeting of the season at Rock Valley, Harper led two sets to one before falling short.

At stake in Thursday's meeting in postseason positioning, as the winner is likely to get the No. 2 seed (behind probable top seed Madison) in the upcoming Region IV tournament.
