Pumpkins light up the night

The Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival is once again trying to break the Guinness World Record for most lit jack-o'-lanterns on display. Bring a carved pumpkin to donate to the cause and get free admission. Nightly lightings at the giant wall of jack-o'-lanterns will brighten City Park at Highwood City Hall, 17 Highwood Ave., at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:45 p.m. Stick around for the live music, hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin-carving contest, a parade at noon Sunday followed by a pet costume contest at 1 p.m. and a kids costume contest at 2 p.m. and more. CLC Wind Ensemble
