Tulsa blows lead, rallies to beat Louisiana-Monroe 34-24

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Dane Evans threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns in rallying Tulsa to a 34-24 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday night.

Louisiana-Monroe (1-4) scored 17 straight points in the third quarter to lead 24-20. But Matt Linscott's interception gave the Golden Hurricane (3-2) the ball at the Louisiana-Monroe 29, and two plays later Evans threw to D'Angelo Brewer for the go-ahead score with 8:41 left. The Warhawks fumbled on the ensuing kickoff and eight plays later Tulsa scored on Zack Langer's second 1-run touchdown.

Evans was 28 of 44 and moved to sixth on Tulsa's career passing TD list with 37.

Louisiana-Monroe's Garrett Smith was 25 of 48 for 231 yards and a score to Ajalen Holley, who had 113 yards receiving.

The game marked the return of Todd Berry to his alma mater as Warhawks head coach. It also came a week after the sudden death of Warhawks walk-on quarterback Daniel Fitzwater.
