Chicago native shown in Mustang documentary

Bringing a new car to market is a daunting task. Make it the iconic and well-revered Ford Mustang and the job seems nigh impossible with tremendous pressure by worldwide fans to get it right.

"A Faster Horse" takes a close and behind-the scenes look at what was needed to take the 2015 Ford Mustang from art studio concept to showroom ready reality. The 90-minute documentary premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival and is directed by David Gelb.

The well-crafted story follows chief program engineer Dave Pericak as he oversees the Mustang's fifth redesign.

Pericak grew up in Chicago and has been a Mustang lover since youth. He even proposed to his wife while they were sitting in one parked outside of their Chicago-area high school.

The film shows Pericak tirelessly working with his team to ensure the new Mustang is a proper steed for the modern age.

Along the way, viewers are treated to rare archival footage and photos and employee and owner interviews - all detailing the special pony car's rich heritage and what makes it so universally appealing.

The film is available for rent exclusively on Vimeo On Demand. It can be viewed at vimeo.com/ondemand/afasterhorse.
