No tie between Iran and Iraq invasion

In an Oct. 5 letter, Mike Simon took us on a tortured trip down memory lane (lest we forget) to bring us to the conclusion that the Iran nuclear deal is no good.

He started with 9/11, where most good fear mongers begin, even though the Al-Qaeda terrorists on that date were from Saudi Arabia, not Iran. He ended his history lesson in Iraq, where so many Americans and Iraqis were killed and maimed by improvised explosive devices (IEDs) manufactured in Iran.

Lest we forget, it was the Bush Administration that sent Americans into Iraq to be killed and maimed. When we arrived, there were no Al-Qaeda terrorists and no IEDs from Iran. The terrorists and IEDs followed us into that country.

There is absolutely no connection between Iran and our invasion of Iraq and the invasion's devastating consequences. To think we would scuttle a deal to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear bomb because Americans were killed and maimed with Iranian built IEDs is ludicrous.
