Crespo, Village Board Honor Local Eagle Scout
STREAMWOOD, Ill. - State Rep. Fred Crespo, D-Hoffman Estates, and members of the Hoffman Estates Village Board, honored Hoffman Estates resident Steven Camiliere for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout at a ceremony last week.
"It is important that we recognize our young people who devote their time to public service, and in doing so serve as exemplary role models for their peers to follow," Crespo said. "The exceptional contributions made by scouts like Steven demonstrate how an individual has the power to institute positive change in their communities."
Crespo introduced House Resolution 766 in the General Assembly to celebrate Camiliere achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. The resolution not only recognizes Camiliere's new rank, but also highlights his life-long involvement in the Boy Scouts in America. Camiliere, who has been a member of Boy Scouts of America since age 6, has earned 54 merit badges, while only 21 where required to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Camiliere's Eagle Project was restoring the Hoffman Estates Veteran's Commission float, which he funded by organizing a car wash.
