HCE Week to be honored Oct. 13-14

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, Joan Ziethen, a member of the Plato Center Unit of Home and Community Education, will lead the pledge of allegiance at the Kane County Board meetng at the Kane County Government Center in Geneva. She also will accept the recognition of "HCE Week in Illinois" by the Kane County Board.

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, there will be a meet-and-greet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of Illinois Extension office, 535 S. Randall Road in St. Charles. The theme will be "Come Together, Walk With KCAHCE." There will be unit displays, activities and a tai chi demonstration with audience participation at 1 p.m. Stop by and learn what Home and Community Education is all about. At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, Joan Ziethen will accept HCE recognition at the Elgin City Council meeting at the Elgin City Hall.
