Kenosha man struck and killed by Metra commuter train

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a man died when he was struck by a Metra commuter train in Kenosha.

The Kenosha Police Department said its officers responded after the Union Pacific Railroad reported that a northbound Metra train had struck a pedestrian who was walking on the railroad tracks Wednesday evening.

The victim, 36-year-old Adam Richter, of Kenoha, died at the scene.

Authorities haven't yet determined the cause and manner of death. Sgt. James Beller says investigators are trying to determine why Richter was on the tracks.

No one on board the Metra train from Chicago was hurt, but trains were delayed for about an hour-and-a-half.
