Save a spot to see the 29th annual motorcycle parade

BATAVIA - Bring your cameras and camp chairs to watch the bikers ride down the parade route for the DuKane ABATE 29th annual Toy & Food Run on Sunday, Oct. 11.

See motorcycles loaded down with toys for the area's neediest children and cheer them on for their generosity! Santa Claus will lead the parade followed by politicians from DuPage and Kane counties, and hundreds of wonderful bikers!

The parade starts at North Street and Route 47 in Elburn, proceeding south to Main Street and continuing to Batavia via Van Nortwick and Wilson streets, ending at the Batavia Overseas Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, 645 S. River St. (Route 25) in Batavia.

The best spots along Route 47 are downtown Elburn on the east side of Route 47 by Bob Jass Chevrolet on Main Street, Blackberry Inn, Blackberry Forest Preserve, West Community Main Park on Main Street Batavia, and on the Wilson Street bridge in downtown Batavia.

Big surprise awaits to delight young and old at the Batavia VFW! There is a certain Kane County resident who will be there to greet the bikes coming in! That's right Ozzie, the Kane County Cougar mascot, will be on hand to help unload the toys and food! Come out and shake his hand!

DuKane ABATE thanks the mayors of Elburn and Batavia, as well as the Batavia and Elburn police departments, Kane County Sheriff, Kane County Emergency Management Department and all the residents for helping us make this the best event ever!
