Falconaires Orchestra to perform concert

District 214 Community Education presents the 2015 fall concert of the Falconaires Orchestra featuring music of the big bands, "When Music WAS Music," at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.

Composed of 17 musicians and two featured vocalists, the Falconaires Orchestra's concert will be conducted by Steve Cooper, a Chicago conductor, trumpet player, arranger and teacher. It will feature the music of Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Charlie Spivak, Count Basie and Les Brown and others.

An integral part of the Northwest suburbs' entertainment community since March 2008, the Falconaires has performed at the Skokie Music Theater, the Chevy Chase Country Club, the Arlington International Racetrack and, most recently, at the historic Methodist campground in Des Plaines.

Tickets for the Sunday show are $8 for adults in advance, $10 at the door; $6 Gold Card Club members; free for children in grades K-12 with a paying adult.
