Aguero replaces Lewandowski atop AP Global Football 10

LONDON (AP) - Sergio Aguero replaced Robert Lewandowski at the top of the player vote in Tuesday's Associated Press Global Football 10 after producing his own five-goal haul for Manchester City.

Aguero scored five times in 20 minutes as his team came from behind to rout Newcastle 6-1 in the Premier League on Saturday and replace Manchester United in first place.

The Argentina striker also converted a 90th-minute penalty to hand his side a crucial 2-1 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Champions League.

Lewandowski, who scored five in nine minutes for Bayern Munich two weeks ago, is second after scoring five more in two games against Dinamo Zagreb and Borussia Dortmund. He has 12 goals for Bayern in his last four games.

"It takes a lot to top Robert Lewandowski in his current form, but Sergio Aguero did it this week by scoring six times in two games, including his superb five-goal haul against Newcastle," Marco Monteverde of News Corp. Australia said.

Alexis Sanchez is third after scoring twice in Arsenal's 3-0 win over United on Sunday, continuing his own impressive form after getting a hat trick against Leicester the week before.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is fourth after becoming Paris Saint-Germain's all-time leading scorer. He converted two penalties in the victory over Marseille to take his tally at the club to 110.

Lorenzo Inisgne also scored twice in Napoli's 4-0 win over AC Milan on Sunday and is fifth. Graziano Pelle, Alvaro Morata, Franco Di Santo, Sadio Mane and Charles complete the top 10 players.

Bayern is the team of the week after beating Dinamo 5-0 in the Champions League and Borussia Dortmund 5-1 in the Bundesliga.

"Today the only team that seems to have no doubt is Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich," Tito Puccetti of ESPN in Argentina said. "It makes goals and destroys its opponents with Robert Lewandowski scoring."

City is second for wins over Newcastle and Moenchengladbach, while Arsenal is third for its victory over United in the Premier League.

PSG's Ibrahimovic-inspired win against Marseille puts it fourth in the poll, above Southampton, which enters the poll for the first time this season after beating Premier League champion Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Napoli, Real Madrid, FC Porto, Sevilla and Olympiakos round out the top 10 teams.
