Bob Saget to appear in Broadway play 'Hand to God'
NEW YORK (AP) - Edgy and irreverent comedian Bob Saget is returning to Broadway - as a pastor.
"Hand to God" lead producer Kevin McCollum said Tuesday that the former "Full House" star will replace Marc Kudisch as the pastor in the play that features a satanic hand puppet. Saget starts Nov. 3 and stays with the show until it closes on Jan. 3.
"After seeing 'Hand to God' with my daughters, I knew immediately that I'd pounce at the opportunity to be a part of it if I could," Saget said in a statement.
Playwright Robert Askins' bracing comedy, mixes violence, swearing, brutal honesty, parental failure, church hypocrisy, and plenty of sex - of both human and puppet varieties.
Saget, the original host of "America's Funniest Home Videos," made his Broadway debut in 2007 in "The Drowsy Chaperone." His films include "The Aristocrats."
