Okubo leads Kawasaki past Gamba 5-3 in J-League's 2nd stage

TOKYO (AP) - Veteran striker Yoshito Okubo scored twice as Kawasaki Frontale beat defending champions Gamba Osaka 5-3 for its fourth straight win in the J-League on Sunday.

Okubo gave Kawasaki a 4-3 lead from the penalty spot with 15 minutes remaining and set up Elsinho seven minutes later to seal the win.

Patric scored twice and Shu Kurata added another for Gamba.

The result puts Kawasaki on 23 points, five behind second-stage leaders Sanfrecce Hiroshima with four games remaining. Gamba has 22 points.

FC Tokyo beat Hiroshima 1-0 on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, Kashima Antlers beat Vissel Kobe 2-0 while Ventforet Kofu and Albirex Niigata finished 0-0. Kashiwa Reysol beat Nagoya Grampus 3-1, and first-stage winners Urawa Reds settled for a 1-1 draw with Sagan Tosu.
