Time To Scream

Turn off the lights. Let the hairs on the back of your neck rise. Let the terror strike! Get ready to scream! October is the time for the Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow's 20th Annual Haunted Hike - CarnEvil of Terror! Friday October 23 7:00PM to 10:30 PM. Saturday is the flashlight hike for younger kids from 3:00PM to 5:30PM, the demons are all unmasked. Saturday October 24 the real screams start from 6:00PM and last to 10:30PM. Extra scary high school hike starts at 9:30PM both nights. The fun will be held at the Des Plaines Methodist Camp Ground, 1890 East Algonquin Road in Des Plaines, just east of River Road. This is Lakota Lodge #175 Order of the Arrow's biggest fund raiser of the year. Many adult and Boy Scout volunteers spend a week setting up the event and then making sure all is cleaned up thoughly afterwards. Come and celebrate the horror of the season.

The big circus tent will offer concessions, a live band both nights and free games for the kids. There is a "Fast Patch" for $28.00 that will move you to the front of the line, gets you a limited edition patch, a bag of pop corn, a glow necklace, a cup of hot cocoa, admission and, of course, a hearty handshake. Scouts and Scouters in uniform are $7.00, children 5 years to 12 years are $8.00, adults and children 13 years and older $9.00 and on line orders are $10.00. Tell all of you fiends to come pay the ghouls at the historic camp grounds a visit.
