Girls volleyball: Cary-Grove goes 3-2 at Asics

Cary-Grove's girls volleyball team went 3-2 for the weekend at the Asics Challenge at Mother McAuley in Chicago.

The Trojans defeated Downers Grove North, Lincoln-Way Central and Berkeley Prep (FL) and lost to Divine Sacred Heart Savior (WI) and St. Thomas (FL).

Alli Splitt had 30 kills and 23 blocks for the tournament while Sara Graham served 6 aces for Cary-Grove (20-4).

Also at the Asics, Crystal Lake South went 2-3. The Gators defeated Stagg and Edens (NY) while losing to Wahlert (IA), Wheaton St. Francis and Lyons Twp.

Kendall Kilberger (64 kills, 21 digs), Jordan Proszenyak (43 kills, 26 digs), Emily Slimko (120 assists, 6 aces), Ariana Chelini (6 aces, 23 digs), Kleja Cernisauskaite (26 blocks) and Hannah Koenig (19 blocks) led CL South (11-10) for the weekend.

At IMSA: Larkin went 3-1 at the IMSA tournament Saturday, beating East Aurora, Kennedy and Joliet but falling to Christian Liberty. Leading the Royals for the day were Natalie Kofie (13 kills, 55 assists, 24 digs, 7 aces), April McGhee (17 kills, 10 assists, 29 digs, 10 aces), Mackensie Malone (34 digs), Isabella Orozco (20 kills, 4 blocks) and Ella Riddle-Roland (14 kills, 17 digs, 3 aces).
