Fremont library seeking to fill open seat on board

The board of trustees of the Fremont Public Library District is seeking to fill an open seat on the board.

The appointed term will last for two years, covering the last two years of the original four-year term.

The board has established a nominating committee that will recommend a candidate to the board for appointment. Interested candidates should send a letter of intent and a resume to: Scott Davis, Library Director, Fremont Public Library District, 1170 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, IL 60060.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 30. Interviews will be scheduled shortly after the application deadline.

Library trustee is a volunteer position that requires attendance at monthly meetings, various committee assignments, and a commitment to the continued success of the Fremont Public Library District. Board responsibilities involve establishing policy and overseeing finances for a growing district library offering a variety of services and programs to meet the needs of a diverse community.

To be eligible, a candidate must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter and a resident of the library district. The Fremont Public Library District consists of parts of eight villages, encompassing all of Fremont Township and a section of western Libertyville Township.
