Clemson officials: School able to operate game

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - The Clemson athletic department said the 12th-ranked Tigers contest with No. 6 Notre Dame remains on schedule for Saturday, despite forecasts of up to a foot of rain for this weekend.

The school said athletic officials met Friday morning and confirmed their ability to operate the game. They feel confident in the planned resources and personnel at Death Valley. The school said in a statement that the field is in good playing condition and power to Memorial Stadium remains unaffected, despite reported outages in other campus areas.

School athletic leaders confirmed with the Highway Patrol and the Clemson Police Department that necessary manpower will be on hand for the sold-out game.

The school also said ESPN's College GameDay is still scheduled for Saturday morning on campus.
