Barrington Hills church to host free big band concert

The Barrington United Methodist Church will host the Big Band Sound of Deerfield band as part of the church's 175th anniversary celebration.

The 18-piece band will perform at the church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4. The band is known for its exciting renditions of songs made famous by Glen Miller, Count Basle, Duke Ellington, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, and others.

Admission is free, but donations to the Family Service of Barrington Area are appreciated.

The church is located at 98 Algonquin Road in Barrington Hills on the southeast corner of Route 59 and Algonquin Road.
