Rotary Hosts Soup's On! Farewell Food Tour

Once again, for the last time, families will gather on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy Soup's On! and sample the tasty fare offered by dozens of restaurants and other food vendors. On October 18th, while eating soup and chili, BBQ entrees, signature sandwiches, and delicious desserts, guests will be treated to musical entertainment by local high school groups. Kids will have fun doing crafts and other activities in a special area hosted by DuPage Children's Museum. Most importantly, attendees will be helping others who are in need of food and shelter.

The Rotary Club of Naperville, which is hosting Soup's On! in partnership with My Chef Catering, will donate the proceeds of the event to DuPage Pads, Hesed House, Loaves and Fishes Community Services, and Rotary Club of Naperville Charities. Since the inception of Soup's On! in 2008, the club has given more than $800,000 to these organizations to help people locally. Sponsors always have been very generous in supporting the community through this event. This year's sponsorship goal is $85,000.

In addition to food and entertainment, attendees will be tempted to bid on a variety of silent auction items. These include sports memorabilia, special theme baskets, and donations from area restaurants. Families will want to take home the Spooktacular Fun Basket that's filled with Halloween fun and surprises. Others will bid for the chance to win the Chanukah Goodies Basket that includes some great holiday celebrations, a Schmaltz Deli gift card, and a Crate & Barrel Chanukah platter, and couples will hope they can win the romantic dinner for two sponsored by My Chef Catering. And that's just a sampling of the many silent auction choices guests will have!

"We are very excited about Soup's On!" said Nina Menis, co-chair of the event. "It has been such a privilege to work with our three charity partners again this year. We stand with them in their efforts to eliminate hunger and homelessness in our community."

Soup's On will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 18th, at Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Avenue.

Tickets are $45 for adults, $35 for seniors/military, $10 for children 6 to 10 years of age, and children 5 and under are free.
