Another East win for Hersey

Hersey's girls swimming team remained unbeaten against Mid-Suburban East foes after earning a 115-32 decision against host Wheeling on Thursday.

Top efforts from the Huskies included double victories from Olivia Kusio in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke and from Jenny Lutz in the 100 back and 100 free.

Hersey got numerous 1-2-3 individual placements, including in diving from Madeline Bovino (228.90), Alexandra Heidrich (211.05) and Margaret Barton (194.45).

Wheeling got a victory from Adrienne Rozmus in the 500 free (6:02.26).

Palatine d. Hoffman Estates: Senior standout Kristin Anderson won at both the longest and shortest race available to help the host Pirates in a 97-56 decision.

Anderson won the 400-meter free in 4:57.87 and the 50 free in 28.13.

Other individual winning efforts for the Pirates were supplied by Mary Obernesser (200 free), Mathilde Mogensen (200 IM), Tess O'Brien (100 free) and Ellis Nelson (100 fly).

Prospect d. Rolling Meadows: The visiting Knights showed great depth in earning a 127-54 victory over the Mustangs.

Prospect swept the relays and got winning efforts in the 50-yard freestyle (26.02) and 100 free (57.97) from Gracie Dix.

Meghan Schmit won diving for the Knights, who were especially strong in a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 IM from Mary Demkowski (2:28.41), Abby Younger and Katie Kenny.

Rolling Meadows got wins in the 100 fly from Bailey Rowley (1:04.21) and in the 500 free from Grace Nykol (6:02.53).

Buffalo Grove d. Elk Grove: The host Bison used strong showings from Diana Morosan and Samantha Swanson on the way to a 129.5-49.5 victory over the Grens in MSL East action.

Morosan took top honors in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.19) and 500 free (5:51.79) and had legs on the winning 200 and 400 free relays. Swanson won the 50 and 100 freestyles and joined Morosan on the free relays.

Other Bison winners included Emily Schulstad (200 IM), Samantha Swanson (50 free), Katie Wasilewski (100 fly) and Payton Perkinson (100 breast).

Elk Grove had the performances in the 100 back from Sara Lasovska (1:08.08) and in diving from Anna Sprenger (201.80).

Barrington d. Conant: Maggie Emary and Bridget O'Leary won two individual races each as the host Fillies remained unbeaten in dual meets this fall with a 130-55 victory.

Emary had the top efforts in the 200 free (1:57.15) and 100 free (55.44), and O'Leary was tops in the 100 fly (1:03.14) and 100 back (1:05.25).

Conant claimed wins in the 50 free (Sam Wooley, 26.27), diving (Bailey Hornstein, 197.40) and the 100 breaststroke (Lea Cejvan, 1:12.59).
