Thanks to all who helped health expo

On behalf of the Hanover Township officials and all the staff and volunteers, I would like to thank the community, sponsors and vendors for their outpouring of support for the township's eighth annual "Just for the Health of It" Community Health and Wellness Expo recently.

I would like to extend a special thank you to our co-sponsors, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and the Victory Centre of Bartlett. This annual event would not be as successful or well attended without their continued support.

Between the non-stop activity in our work and personal lives, we sometimes overlook what is best for our health. This event is a great place to become more knowledgeable of routines we can do every day to stay healthy, as well as take part in free preventative health screenings.

At this year's expo, we had more than 90 vendors and sponsors onsite administering screenings and providing vital information on everyday health and wellness. Over 300 wellness screenings were administered this year to attendees.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the tremendous support our residents, neighbors and friends show during these sponsored events.

This year, over $5,500 was raised to benefit the Office of Community Health's crisis care and health promotion services.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, sponsored and volunteered. We look forward to an even bigger, more successful event next year.
