Perfect first half in West for Palatine

Palatine d. Barrington: Palatine's girls volleyball team completed a perfect run through the first half of Mid-Suburban West play on Tuesday night by defeating host Barrington 25-12,17-25, 25-21.

The Piratsesimproved to 15-7 and 5-0 in MSL West while Barrington is now 6-13 and 3-2.

Claire Chaplinsky led the Pirates' attack wihtt12 kills. Heather Holz added 9 and Haley Holz 6.

Setter Sydney Christiansen handed out 29 assists while Alexis Serna and Alyssa Kronberg each had 9 digs.

Gabby Morris (14 kills), Peyton Tilly (8) and Andi Capel (6) led the Fillies' attack which was set by Ana Zawisza (34 assists 12 points).

Fremd d. Conant: Jenny Miller (2 aces) and Ysabel Lee each had 5 kills for Fremd which improved to 12-7, and 2-3 in the MSL West. Teammate Mackenzie Bednarek added 3 kills.

Natalie Freund handed out 13 assists for the host Vikings who receieved 10 digs from Karolina Sas.

Rolling Meadows d. Wheeling: Maddie Sellergren (8 kills), Jenny Srnak (6 kills), Gabrille Paige (4), Meghan Slowik (4) and Hannah Mickey (2) led the attack for host Meadows (14-7-1, 3-2) in a 25-27, 25-14, 25-22 MSL East victory. Megan Mich (13 assists) and Megan King (5) set the Mustangs' attack.

Mickey also had 4 blocks and 11 digs.

Timber Terrell (9 kills) and Michaela Vasey (8 kills, 15 digs) led Wheeling (4-14, 2-3). Remy Jankowski served 3 aces while Jessica Janowski had 17 assists.

Buffalo Grove d. Elk Grove: Host Buffalo Grove (3-11, 1-4) earned its first win in the MSL East with a 25-22, 25-11 triumph over the Grenadiers, who were led on attack by Carly Crothers (2 kills, 7 digs). Mary Cronin and Jenny Banak each served 2 aces for th Grens (2-16, 0-5).

Schaumburg d. Hoffman Estates: Visiting Schaumburg remained one match out of first place in the MSL West with a 25-23, 25-23 victory that gave Saxons coach Jeanette Pancratz 799 career wins.

She will go for 800 on Thursday when Conant, coached by her daughter Drewann, visit for a 6 p.m. match.

Abbie Rahn (12 kills), Mallory Gerber (5), Lexi Ross (4) and Morgan Sterrett (3) led the Saxons' attack set by Christina Candotti (9 assist) and Jordyn Harberts (7).

Gabby Paelmo (9 dogs) Harberts (8) and Gervber (8) paced the back row.

Hoffman (0-5) was led on attack by Natalie Pethes, who was 10-for-12 with 4 kills while Krista Lynch and Hanna Saubier each had 2.

St. Viator d. Carmel: Visiting St. Viator (16-11, 2-2) posted a 25-12, 11-25, 27-25 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference match. Alyssa Forbes had 9 kills to lead St. Viator while teammates Audrey Nuelle and Kendall Claffey (2 aces) each had 4.

Michaela Mueller handed out 23 assists while Ellie Meyer had 27 digs.

Glenbrook North d. Maine West: Glenbrook North posted a 22-25, 29-27, 25-27 in the CSL North match. Allison Grzebien led the host Warriors (7-12, 3-1) with 8 kills, 20 digs and 5 blocks. Jordan Hart added 3 kills, 3 aces and 14 digs for West while teammate Jessica Riedl had 6 kills and 5 blocks.
