Dog Jog Oct. 3 to benefit Kane County pets

Kane County Animal Control will hold its second annual Dog Jog from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Animal Control Facility, 4060 W. Keslinger Road in Geneva.

Late registration is open through Oct. 3 for $20, $10 for age 12 and under, or $30 per family. Children under 3 are free.

A "family" is defined as no more than 2 adults and up to 3 children. Each additional child $5. Each additional adult $10.

Prices listed are suggested donations to help Kane County Animal Control fund their mission for humane care of animals through sheltering, pet placement, education, and animal law enforcement.

It will begin with registration and vendor fair at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. start for runners with no animals, 9:15 a.m. for those with dogs, and 9:30 a.m. for walkers. Awards will begin at noon.

Registration forms are available on the Animal Control website at www.kanecountypets.com or can be picked up at Kane County Animal Control facility, 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva. They welcome all supporters to come out to cheer on the runners and walkers.

For those unable to attend but still want to contribute, there is the "Cat Nap Option" where donations can be sent to the Animal Control Facility at the address listed above.
