Kids participate in CASA marathon program

CASA Kane County sponsored the Fox Valley KIDS Marathon for the fourth year in a row.

Children, ages 4 to 14, walked or ran one mile at a time on their own with adult supervision 25 times over the summer and recorded their mileage in log sheets.

On Race Day, Sept. 19, youth runners completed their final 1.2 miles along with hundreds of other kids to earn a finisher's medal and call themselves marathoners.

The KIDS Marathon started and finished at First and Illinois streets in St. Charles, capping off a summer of training for a total of 26.2 miles.
