Enjoy 'Songs of a Dream' Oct. 3

The Auditorium Theatre and Agape Connection Inc. presents the musical production "Songs of a Dream" at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. John AME Church, 2950 Bilter Road in Aurora.

Tickets are $30 or $15 for age 12 to college-age; children under 12 are admitted free.

The musical production features acclaimed vocalists Rodrick Dixon and Alfreda Burke singing German lieder, French chansons, American art songs, spirituals, hymns and popular music. Dixon and Burke will weave Biblical stories together with excerpts from their personal appearances on television.

With musical direction by Matt Long, "Songs of a Dream" tells the story of two driven musicians whose passion for music and each other resonates throughout their lives. Burke and Dixon co-created this piece with the Auditorium Theatre, where they annually perform as soloists in the hit production of "Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah," which celebrated its 10th smash year on the Auditorium's landmark stage last January.
