Chase Bank robbed in Elgin

A Chase Bank was robbed Friday afternoon in Elgin, police said.

Police responded just after 1:15 p.m. to a report of a robbery at the bank, 500 N. Shady Oaks Drive in the Cobblers Crossing shopping center off Summit Street, Cmdr. Ana Lalley said in a news release.

The robber demanded money and then fled on foot. No employees or customers were injured, Lalley said.

As is standard in all bank robberies, Elgin police are working on the case in conjunction with the FBI, which was on the scene, she said.
