Intren CFO an award finalist

UNION - Mike McArthy, Intren senior vice president & chief financial officer, has been selected as a finalist in the mid-size private category for the 2015 Chicago CFO of the Year Award by the Financial Executives International (FEI) Chicago Chapter.

The award honors senior financial leaders who have made significant contributions to a business or nonprofit in Chicago with quality, insight and direction. Individuals are nominated and awarded in five categories: large public, mid-size public, large private, mid-size private, and not-for-profit. All candidate nominations are validated and endorsed by the nominee and nominee's chief executive officer.

"We at Intren have such great respect for Mike and know how important his leadership has been to our company," said Loretta Rosenmayer, founder and CEO of Intren. "He has brought us a higher sophistication, vision, creative thought and very detailed analyses that have helped us succeed as a company."

Since joining Intren in 2012, McArthy has assisted the company in navigating through an exponential period of fiscal and geographic growth to date, from $124 million in revenue in 2011 to $279 million in revenue and more than 1,200 employees in 2015.

McArthy leads support services at Intren, including finance, information technology, human resources, project management office, fleet services, and procurement.

"It's no surprise that Mike was nominated by multiple people for this prestigious award," said Intren President Lance Rosenmayer. "Mike's passion impacts all that he does. The difference he has made at Intren, as well as in the community, is outstanding and his being selected as a CFO of the Year finalist is very well deserved."

McArthy's previous experience includes Vice President and Chief Financial Officer positions with family-owned and private-equity backed private companies, and divisional CFO roles for public companies. McArthy also has significant merger and acquisition experience. Beginning his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Co. McArthy is a registered CPA with an MBA from Northern Illinois University and a BS in Operations Management from Illinois State University. He also has completed numerous executive programs at Northwestern University, University of Chicago and Harvard University.
