COD's Writers Read Series Hosts Author Stuart Dybek Oct. 13

Award-winning author Stuart Dybek will read a selection of his works at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the Playhouse Theater of the McAninch Arts Center on the College of DuPage Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., as part of the College's Writers Read Series.

This event is free and open to the public.

Dybek, called the "bard of the blue collar" by friend Studs Terkel, is considered one of Chicago's most celebrated writers. He is the author of two collections of poems, "Brass Knuckles" and "Streets in Their Own Ink," as well as several works of fiction, including "I Sailed With Magellan." His writing has appeared in "The New Yorker," "Harper's" and many other magazines. Among his many awards, Dybek is recipient of fellowships from both the Guggenheim Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArther Foundation.

The Oct. 13 event will include a reading, followed by a question and answer session.
