Girls volleyball: Geneva, Cary-Grove both win

Ally Barrett put down 10 kills and Mikayla Lanasa dished out 20 assists and served 3 aces Wednesday to lead Geneva's surging girls volleyball team to a 25-18, 25-23 nonconference win over DeKalb.

Grace Loberg added 5 kills for the Vikings (17-2), while Ally Mullen (3 kills, 2 blocks) and Payton Bellano (8 digs, 2 aces) also contributed to the win.

Cary-Grove d. Lake Zurich: Alli Splitt had 8 kills and 7 blocks, Kate Selsky added 10 digs and Erin Olson had 19 assists and 3 aces to lead the Trojans (17-1) to a 25-14, 25-11 nonconference win.

Elgin Academy d. Alden-Hebron: Elizabeth Clements had 10 kills, 4 aces and 3 blocks while Nadine Kademoglou added 10 digs and 5 aces to lead the Hilltoppers to a 24-26, 25-21, 25-23 nonconference win. Also contributing to the victory were Sophie Borchart (4 digs, 2 blocks, 4 aces), Gia Joyce (4 blocks), Madeline Sporina (7 kills) and Rachel Dwyer (6 assists, 4 aces).

WW South d. West Aurora: Jordyn Poppen had 7 kills and Kelly Townsend added 10 assists for West Aurora (14-5) in a 25-19, 13-25, 25-19 nonconference loss.
