Forbes, St. Viator top Elk Grove

St. Viator's girls volleyball team improved to 14-9 with a 25-8, 25-18 victory over Elk Grove in a nonconference on Monday night.

Alyssa Forbes served 3 aces while Catherine Hickey, Kendall Claffey and Michaela Mueller each had 2 for the Lions, who were led on attack by Forbes' 9 kills.

Gani Thomas had 2 blocks and Mueller 17 assists for Viator while Ellie Meyer led the backcourt with 15 digs.

Mackenzie Vetter had 2 kills and Alex Masnica handed out 4 assists for EG (2-14).

Downers Grove South d. Leyden: DGS posted a 25-17, 25-23 triumph over Leyden 12-5, 2-1) which was led by senior outside hitter Emily Steininger (5 kills) and junior setter Autumn McGee (7 kills).

Home School League: The Northland Royals defeated Hinsdale Adventist Academy 25-6, 25-11 as Lea Hines (2 blocks), Emily Baldwing (3 aces, 17 digs), Lizzy Kiernicki (3 aces, 2 assists), Keri Nicholson (2 aces, 3 assists) and Lydia Schiller (4 kills) helped lead the way.
