Naturalist to lead Barrington bird walks this fall

Fall migration has begun - and Citizens for Conservation and Audubon Chicago Region will sponsor four fall bird walks in September and October with Barrington-area naturalist Wendy Paulson.

The walks include:

• 7:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21: Beverly Lake Forest Preserve, Hoffman Estates. Park in the lot on the north side of Higgins Road, Route 72, west of Sutton Road.

• 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28: Flint Creek Savanna, at Citizens for Conservation headquarters, 459 W. Highway 22, Lake Barrington.

• 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5: Ron Beese Park, Barrington. Meet at the park at the east end of Cornell Avenue

The walks on Sept. 21, and 28 will be more strenuous hikes.

The walks are free and open to the public, although space is limited, and RSVPs are required.

To reserve a spot, email Dan Jacobson at Audubon Chicago Region at djacobson@audubon.org or call (312) 453-0230, ext. 2002. Please indicate how best to reach you if updates are necessary.

Participants should dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes and bring binoculars. Check the Citizens for Conservation at www.citizensforconservation.org for last-minute changes or cancellations.
