Nonstop music at Dundee Heritage Fest Sept. 18-20

Both sides of the river will be rocking when Dundee lights up Heritage Fest, its annual three-day farewell to summer, that kicks off from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.

Performers on three stages in East and West Dundee will be providing hits from almost every type of music imaginable. On Friday, East Dundee's Depot on River Street will present the rockabilly sounds of The Neverly Brothers at 6 p.m. followed by the Celtic rock of Larkin and Moran Brothers at 9 p.m. West Dundee's main stage will feature the high energy sounds of The Student Body at 6 p.m. and Hi Infidelity at 9 p.m., playing music from the 1980s, '90s and now.

On Saturday, Sept. 19, East Dundee's Depot on River will ease into the day with acoustic guitarist Dave Byron at 8:30 a.m. followed by the lively German polkas of Die Musikmeisters at noon; folksy rock of Gecko Club at 2:30 p.m.; the rockin' Belvederes at 4 p.m.; cool jazz of saxophonist Frank Catalano Band at 6 p.m. and rock & blues band Jimmy Nick and Don't Tell Mama at 9 p.m.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, West Dundee's Grafelman Park will come alive with the bluesy rock of Nick Cannon followed by folk music for kids presented by Vessy Mink at noon; inspirational blues and ballads of The Experience at 2:30 p.m.; and good old R& B music from Crybaby at 4 p.m. The main stage in downtown West Dundee will feature Garage Orchestra at noon; Bishop Super Band at 1:30 p.m.; Cinful, playing pop country and classic rock hits, at 3 p.m.; Controlled Burn presenting alternative country/rock sounds at 4:30 p.m.; country favorites Hilbilly Rockstarz at 6:30 p.m. and 7th Heaven, well-known for their "30 songs in 30 minutes" are featured at 9 p.m.

The music continues on Sunday, Sept. 20 when the Starlites begin the fun at 8 a.m. on the main stage in West Dundee, with their energetic Dixieland jazz followed by the rockin' Terata at 10:30 a.m.; soulful sounds of Matt Vrba & Deanna Brown at noon and The Lennys providing family friendly rock from the 1950s through today at 2:30 p.m. Across the river at The Depot Stage in East Dundee, Gypsy will be performing popular acoustic music at 8:30 a.m.; Die Musikmeisters return with their lively German sounds at 11 a.m.; the old "Rat Pack" will be brought back to life with the Frank Lampere Orchestra at 1 p.m.; blues hits by Blues Heart at 3:30 p.m. with Classical Blast closing down the fest at 5 p.m. with their incredible mix of music from Bach to classical rock.

"If you're into music, you're absolutely going to find something to like in this year's lineup at Heritage Fest," said East Dundee's Village President, Lael Miller.

Traditionally held in West Dundee, this community-wide free event has expanded into East Dundee and takes place in the downtown Dundee location along Route 72. The Village of East Dundee will be focusing on their German Heritage through a joint partnership with Immanuel Lutheran, as they host their annual Deutschfest celebration tent complete with German food and drink. Through a partnership between the villages, visitors will enjoy fireworks, great music, carnival rides, good food, craft and antique fairs, car shows, Kids Korner, magic shows, weekend markets and more. Discover Dundee 2015 Sizzlin' Summer Events

Each week throughout the summer months, The Depot at 319 N. River St., East Dundee has been host to events held monthly: Motor Mondays, Tail Waggin' Tuesdays, Wine Down Wednesdays and new this year, Thirsty Thursdays.
