Girls volleyball: Cary-Grove, Bartlett notch wins

Ally Splitt and Alli Vasquez had 6 kills each to lead Cary-Grove's girls volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-16 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win over Jacobs on Thursday night.

Delaney Bayer added 10 digs for the Trojans (14-1, 4-0) and Erin Olson had 3 aces.

Bridget Wallenberger had 7 kills and Paige Queffelec 7 digs for Jacobs. Monet Charron added 5 digs and Kyla Fitzsimmons had 4 kills.

Bartlett d. Elgin: Natalie Moll had 10 kills and Kelly Harris added 6 to lead the Hawks (8-7-1) to a 25-20, 25-16 Upstate Eight crossover win. Andie Sobotka (16 digs), Jenna Kummerer (11 digs) and Almira Khan (20 assists) also contributed for Bartlett.

Riverside-Brookfield d. St. Edward: Dominique Washington had 5 kills and 8 digs for the Green Wave (8-4, 3-2) in a 25-14, 25-13 Metro Suburban West loss.

Harvest Christian d. Newark: Amanda Cassidy (14 kills, 15 digs) and Mikayla Robinson (10 kills) led the Lions (7-3) to a 15-25, 25-12, 25-22 nonconference win. Hannah Murray had 31 assists for Harvest.

St. Francis d. Batavia: In a 25-13, 25-16 nonconference loss to the defending Class 3A state champion, Maddy Astling had 6 kills and Katelynn Fegan 8 digs for Batavia (6-11). Jenna Garrett added 6 digs and 11 assists for the Bulldogs.

West Aurora d. Glenbard North: The Blackhawks got 4 kills from Jordyn Poppen and 3 each from Sydney Fedor (5 digs) and Kayla Battle to win this nonconference match 25-12, 25-23. Kelly Townsend added 12 assists for West Aurora (13-4).

Westminster Christian d. Luther North: Grace Bickford had 8 kills and Kristen Mason served 8 aces to lead the Warriors to a 15-25, 25-18, 26-24 Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Emily Lamp added 10 assists and 5 digs for Westminster (3-7, 1-2).
