Body found by mowing crew along I-88 in Aurora

An autopsy will be performed Friday on the body of a woman found by an IDOT mowing crew near a car Thursday.

Aurora police said the work crew was mowing grass in the area and discovered the car about 1:35 p.m. in a heavily wooded area along the north side of the I-88 just west of Deerpath Road. The body was found about 200 yards west of the vehicle.

Aurora police said the body was decomposing when crews discovered it.

The autopsy will be performed by the Kane County Coroner's office in Geneva. Police said they did not anticipate releasing further information until the autopsy is done.
