Videos in fatal Waukegan crash released

Waukegan police released four new videos of a vehicle thought to be involved in the Jan. 3 crash that killed 49-year-old Gaylord Davis of Waukegan.

Police released the videos Thursday in hopes anyone who witnessed the crash would call and identify the vehicle.

Police were called to Ninth Street and Prescott Avenue at 2:50 a.m. and found Davis dead as a result of significant trauma. Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, authorities said, and are interested in speaking with the occupants of the metallic-colored Jeep observed in the videos.

The three occupants are described by police as a white or Hispanic woman, a white or Hispanic man, and black man.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Waukegan Police Department Criminal Investigation Tip Line at (847) 360-9001. A reward for information leading to an arrest in the investigation is available.
