We should do more for Syrian refugees
Germany has set aside nearly $7 billion to settle about 800,000 refugees in their densely populated country. The U.S., on the other hand, has taken in only 1,400 Syrian refugees in recent years while contemplating raising its future commitment, but not by that much.
For decency and fairness, we and wealthy countries in the Middle East ought to pitch in and do much more.
