Energetic Lyra Guitar Quartet Brings Fresh Sound to David Adler Music and Arts Center

Lyra Guitar Quartet will give the first concert of the David Adler Music and Arts Center's 2015-16 season at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.

"Concerts like these help make our community a great place to live," Coordinator Heather Williamson said. "It's a fantastic opportunity to hear world-class music in your own backyard."

Lyra Guitar Quartet offers a fresh take on classical music. These Northeastern University alumni explode the traditional classical guitar repertoire by adapting classical pieces written for other instruments. They also feature rarely heard selections for classical guitar. Their program explores over 500 years of classical music and features Renaissance favorites and Latin grooves.

Tickets may be purchased online, at www.adlercenter.org, or by calling (847) 367-0707. Seating is limited and early booking is recommended. Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for Adler members and $20 for general admission.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life. Its year-round activities are designed to foster engagement and achievement in the arts for the people of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. The David Adler Music and Arts Center is at 1700 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville.
