See Aurora 88s compete in home season closer Sept. 26

The Aurora 88s roller derby team will host its home season closer on Saturday, Sept. 26. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first whistle blows at 5:30 p.m. at Aurora Skate Center, 34W113 Montgomery Road. Aurora. Admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Kids, age 12 and younger, are admitted free. Tickets are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1348018.

Join the pack which is seeking skaters, referees and volunteers. No previous experience is required. A Recruitment Information Night will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Get information on the Aurora 88s, the recruitment process, how the program works, what will be expected, and insight on tryouts. You also can view a private scrimmage.

Learn the basics of roller derby in "Derby 101 Part 1" from 8 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 or "Derby 101 Part 2" from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18. Tryouts will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27.
