Seniors Can Learn to Manage Chronic Health Conditions In Library Program

Seniors with chronic health conditions will acquire valuable information for managing their illness during "Take Charge of Your Health," a six week program from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Fridays, Sept. 25 through Oct. 30, at the Schaumburg Township District Library's Hoffman Estates Branch, 1550 Hassell Rd. People suffering with ailments including asthma, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension or heart disease will benefit from this Stanford University-developed program on managing chronic illness. The library also encourages the attendance of seniors living with someone who has a chronic health condition.

"Take Charge of Your Health" is facilitated by Cathy Dagian, Village of Hoffman Estates Nursing Supervisor; and Valerie Wilson, trained facilitator. Participant commitment is for six sessions in six consecutive weeks. The textbook is free during the class, with the option to purchase for $15. Registration is required.
