Speakers for the event include representatives from geothermal companies, the Illinois Department of Public Health, Serosun Farms, and the Kane County Health Department.

A closed loop geothermal well system is a way to create a heat exchange system with the earth, thereby cooling a home in the summer and keeping it warm in the winter using minimum electricity and gas. The system works by transferring the house's heat to the environment or taking the environment's heat and putting it in to the house via a piping system. There are different ways to install these systems and knowing which way best suits the homeowner's need is important while protecting the environment.

Space is limited and registration is required. Registration forms must be submitted by Tuesday, Sept. 15. Questions concerning registration can be directed to (630) 444-3040.
