Lisle police rescue woman from DuPage River

Lisle police officers rescued a woman late Saturday after she fell into the DuPage River near a construction site at Four Lakes Drive.

According to police, officers were dispatched at 11 p.m. to the 5800 block of East Lake Drive for a report of a woman in the water who was calling for help.

Officers located the woman, then grabbed a ladder from the nearby construction site and used it to pull her out of the water, police said.

The 57-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.

It's been a busy summer for rescue workers along the DuPage River. In June, Naperville emergency crews had to rescue three people in two days after they tried unsuccessfully to boat down the rain-swollen river. No one was injured in any of the cases.
